BIO :
Anne Queffélec, daughter of writer Henri Queffélec and sister of writer Yann Queffélec, does her studies at the “Conservatoire National supérieur de musique” of Paris, where she gets two first prizes, one for the piano and one for chamber music. After her studies she works with Paul Badura-Skoda, Jörg Demus and Alfred Brendel, in Vienna.
In 1968 et 1969, Anne Queffélec wins the “Internationals” of Munich and of Leeds and those prizes will start her career. She is performing in Europe, in Japan, in the United States, in Canada, with the famous philharmonic orchestra of London, the Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields, the Tokyo NHK Orchestra, the philharmonic orchestre of Radio France… She plays with Pierre Boulez, John Eliot Gardiner, or Philippe Jordan, and has a very large repertoire including Haendel, Dutilleux, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, and Satie.
Anne Queffélec is invited at numerous festivals in France and abroad -La Roque d’Anthéron, la Folle journée de Nantes, les BBC Prom’s-, but she comes also every year to Barfleur where she honours us greatly being the godmother of “l’Eté Musical de Barfleur”.
